How to get involved
Language of Caring Workshops
Do you look after, support, or care for someone else? Do you, or the person you care for, live in Camden? If so, we want to hear your thoughts about the language we use when we talk about unpaid care work.
We are inviting all Camden residents with experience of caring to an in-person workshop to share your thoughts and feedback on the language of caring. Together, we will explore how the way we talk can help reduce unhelpful or negative stereotypes about caregiving. Let’s develop a more inclusive and accurate language that reflects caregivers from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and care situations. Your input will be translated into guidelines to inform communications, staff training, and public information.
The workshop will be in two parts, with the first session taking place in November, and then a follow up session in December. As a thank you for your time we will provide lunch on the day of the first session. You will be reimbursed with shopping vouchers at a rate of £15 per hour for both sessions.
