Borough Partnership Carers Board
Carers have said that one of our goals should be to build a transparent, welcoming, accessible, and representative Carers Board that reflects the diversity of our Camden community.
To meet this ask, we’re committed to keeping you informed and updated on the work we’ve been doing. This page is designed to be place to post minutes and updates from co-production meetings and other related workshops, including Carers Board minutes and updates.
To ensure that responsibility for the action plan is shared across organisations in the Camden Borough Partnership, a Carer Partnership Board was launched in early 2025. This board is called the Borough Partnership Carers Board. The board is responsible for holding the action plan and maintaining its accountability and momentum. The partnership board tracks progress of the areas for action and ensures that the principles are considered in all work. The board includes carers, Councillors, and senior representatives from across the Borough Partnership.
Members of the Borough Partnership Carers Board include:
- Camden residents with lived experience as unpaid carers
- Camden Council
- Camden Carers
- North London Foundation Trust
- North Central London Integrated Care Board
- Central and North West London Trust
- Representatives of the Camden voluntary and community sector
The board is connected to other decision-making groups, such as the Health and Wellbeing Board and Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee, to ensure that actions can be agreed and prioritised at the highest level. Carers Project Team
As part of the commitment to carers, there is also a Carers Project team, comprising of a Project Lead and Project Officer, to support the work of the action plan and the partnership board. Funding for these roles has been agreed until April 2027. A budget has also been identified, which will be used to support the running of the board, for example on communication, but will also be used by the board to deliver the actions within the plan. You can contact the Carers Project team by emailing [email protected].
Task and Finish Groups
The programme of work for the first year of the Carers Board has been agreed in line with the top three priorities that carers identified as most important. These priorities are being actioned through three task and finish groups, each co-lead by a carer Board member. The three task and finish groups are:
Information, Advice & Communications
- Ensuring carers have access to accurate information and advice that is easy to navigate, and tailored to diverse needs.
Mental Health
- Creating a well-connected, accessible, and inclusive support system for carers that ensures they are provided with holistic and ongoing support for their wellbeing and the wellbeing of those they care for.
Carers Conversations
- Recognising, valuing, and supporting unpaid carers by embedding a consistent, strengths-based and culturally competent approach to carers conversations and navigation across the system, focussed on improving identification, inclusion, and access to the right help and resources at the right time.
