Borough Partnership Carers Board

Carers have said that one of our goals should be to build a transparent, welcoming, accessible, and representative Carers Board that reflects the diversity of our Camden community.

To meet this ask, we’re committed to keeping you informed and updated on the work we’ve been doing. This page is designed to be place to post minutes and updates from co-production meetings and other related workshops, including Carers Board minutes and updates.

To ensure that responsibility for the action plan is shared across organisations in the Camden Borough Partnership, a Carer Partnership Board was launched in early 2025. This board is called the Borough Partnership Carers Board. The board is responsible for holding the action plan and maintaining its accountability and momentum. The partnership board tracks progress of the areas for action and ensures that the principles are considered in all work. The board includes carers, Councillors, and senior representatives from across the Borough Partnership. The board is connected to other decision-making groups, such as the Health and Wellbeing Board and Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee, to ensure that actions can be agreed and prioritised at the highest level.

The Borough Partnership Carers Board will meet seasonally, with four meetings scheduled across the year. The board first met at the Borough Partnership Carers Board launch on Wednesday 9 April 2025. You can click the links below to download a PDF copy of the board minutes and presentation slides from that meeting.

The launch of the Carers Action Plan follows a recent change in operational delivery of Adult Social Care to a neighbourhood approach, and the development of a pilot Integrated Neighbourhood Team launching in East Camden. These transformation initiatives reflect Camden’s move to delivering social care support at a local, place-based level, focussed on working in collaborative and co-located way with people drawing on support, community services and health providers. The set-up and delivery of the Borough Partnership Carers Board will both learn from and enable the development of this place-based approach through its own multi-stakeholder coordination and partnership working, and will be tasked to ensure that carers voices and carer responsibilities are visible and embedded throughout.

Carers Project Team

As part of the commitment to carers, there is also a Carers Project team to support the work of the action plan and the partnership board. The team is comprised of three roles, a Carers Project Lead, a Carers Project Officer and a Carers Support Officer. The team members were recruited in early 2025, and funding has been agreed for two years. A budget has also been identified, which will be used to support the running of the board, for example on communication, but will also be used by the board to deliver the actions within the plan. You can contact the Carers Project team by emailing [email protected]

The working group will continue to be responsible for the daily delivery of the action plan priorities, monitoring progress of any workstreams (subgroups that have been created on specific actions) and maintaining oversight of plans. The working group will report to the board.

Workshops and Focus Groups

November 2024

In November, our workshops and focus groups provided valuable insights into carers' experiences, informing priorities for the Carers Board, including improved access to respite care, flexible support options, and enhanced communication pathways. You can click the link below to download a PDF copy of the minutes from that focus group.
