St Francis Lunch Club
About this provider
St Francis Lunch Club is run from St Francis Youth & Community Centre. The lunch club is for over 55s, mainly from Bournville and surrounding areas. We have space for up to 18 members, although this does vary depending on how many are in wheelchairs, because of limited space at the Centre. Our lunch club runs once a week, on a Friday, during term time, so we don’t meet during the school holidays. It starts at around 10.30 in the morning and finishes at approximately 2.30 in the afternoon. After the members have arrived, we serve tea/coffee and a biscuit. Morning activities can include crafts, movement to music (which takes place once a month), quizzes etc. Lunch is served at around 12.30, which is a hot cooked main meal, followed by pudding (we can cater for all dietary requirements). After lunch, we serve tea/coffee, followed by a quiz or game and most weeks there is a game of bingo and we finish at around 2.15/2.30 p.m. Members don't need to bring anything for activities, this is all included in the cost, which is currently £7 per week if you come independently and £10 for those members who come on the Shencare bus.
