Description
Carers Short Breaks, of up to 16 hours free respite care per 4 week period, are available for eligible carers living in the London Borough of Hillingdon. This break might give carers time to attend to their own health needs, some much needed time to socialise and relax or to leave the house to attend to household errands. Carers must be providing a significant amount of support for an adult, who must not be receiving any other support from the local authority (such as homecare). Carers Short Breaks are available Monday to Friday between 8am and 9pm (excluding bank holidays). Anyone can refer a carer to the Carers Short Break service. Self-referrals are accepted. Clients can choose to purchase additional care and respite breaks if they choose, using private funds or direct payments (contact us for prices).
Carers Trust Thames works with its clients to develop high quality care packages suitable for both the needs of the primary carer and the person being cared for. Whilst the carer has a break, our Care Support Workers may provide social stimulation for the person with care needs, escort the person on trips outside the home or provide more advanced care for those with complex care needs or disabilities.
