What is Great Tenants?
Mencap works in partnership with Golden Lane Housing (GLH) to offer a range of housing options. Great Tenants is a service that enables people with a learning disability to rent quality housing that suits their needs in an area of their choice. GLH acts as the landlord and liaises directly with tenants.

Who is Great Tenants for?
Great Tenants is for adults with a learning disability who would like to live independently.

How can we support you?
We can support you with:
• searching and assessing properties
• dealing with housing benefit agencies and other parties
• property safety and compliance testing
• preparing and issuing the tenancy agreement
• ongoing tenancy support

Where is Great Tenants available?
We offer this service to people living throughout England & Wales.

How can you access Great Tenants?
You can access supported living using your personal budget or other form of direct payment, by paying with private funds, or with funding directly from your local authority.

Pricing information
Set up fee – there is a standard fee of £750 to cover cost set-up costs. However, each scheme is individual and this fee may vary to reflect specific circumstances.
Rent - when a person becomes a GLH tenant they pay rent for their home.
