Description

St Clare House is a purpose built care home, providing residential and dementia care for older people, ideally located in the city centre close to local amenities. We welcome residents who wish to stay with us long-term or short term for Respite.

Our home is tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard with dementia friendly colour schemes, furniture and signage. It has 29 spacious en-suite bedrooms on two floors. We have a lovely private garden for the residents to enjoy in the warmer months.

Our Care
St Clare’s is a small friendly home with a warm and inviting atmosphere. We aim to provide the best quality care to our residents and design a care plan which is specific to the individual’s needs and choices. We support our Residents care needs in a person centred way, whilst maintaining their privacy, dignity and Independence.

All our care staff have a minimum of NVQ 2 in Health and Social care and undertake regular training to ensure they continue to develop their skills and deliver a high standard of care. All our staff are trained to care and support any residents with dementia.

Activities
Our Activities co-ordinator arranges a wide variety of activities in groups or with Individuals on a one to one basis. Day trips are organised e.g. to the museum, garden centre, local park theatre and social club. Some examples of activities are: sing a longs, bingo, Arts and crafts, quiz and crosswords gardening club, Baking, Skittles, Bowls, Exercise to music, conversation cards.

Dining
At St Clare House we provide freshly prepared nutritious meals selected from our four week menu. Residents are offered a choice of meals everyday and also a choice of where they wish to eat-in the dining area, lounge or in their own room.
Special diets are catered for. We have achieved the Healthier options award for providing healthier food choices and compliance with food standards and safety.
