What we provide
Specialised support for people with complex and profound learning and physical disabilities which also gives their carer the opportunity to have a break.
North Kirklees
Delivered to 84 people each day across various buildings and in the community.
In North Kirklees these take place at:
• Community Access Centre, Red Laithes Court, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury
• Mirfield and Batley bases, Ravensthorpe Centre, Ravensthorpe
• Habib Base, Red Laithes Court, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury
• Heckmondwike base, Heckmondwike Scouts and Community Centre
• Cleckheaton base, Turnsteads Community Centre, Cleckheaton
All these bases are Council-run, and are open Monday to Friday.
Who is it for?
For adults with complex and profound learning and physical disabilities.
When does it take place?
We open five days a week: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm excluding bank holidays (and other closures for staff training etc. – please ask)
How much does it cost?
We provide a service that is identified through a person-led assessment which meets the National eligibility criteria. For more information on a person-led assessment, which includes a financial assessment, please call Kirklees Council Gateway to care on 01484 414933.
The service is tailored around the person, providing opportunities and experiences to match their assessed support needs. This is a very important part of Day Opportunities.
