Our Short Break Units
Leading Lives Short Break Respite Units are registered with the Care Quality Commission. They are designed to support family carers by providing a much needed break from their caring responsibilities.
We are also able to respond quickly in times of crisis and accommodate referrals at short notice, providing a family with valuable breathing space at difficult times.

A stay in one of our short break services gives customers the chance to enjoy time away from the day-to-day routine and to experience different surroundings and activities.
Customers can make their own choices about what they want to do in a safe and supported environment, although well trained and compassionate teams, facilitate and support activities for our guests enjoyment.
This increased choice and flexibility enables people using our services to develop more independent living skills.

As well as shared living areas everyone has their own room and are encouraged to have their personal items with them to make their stay as familiar and comfortable as possible.
Our Short break units have specialist facilities and equipment to cater for the needs of people with physical and multiple disabilities. Experienced teams understand and respond sensitively to people, which has developed a relationship of trust and understanding with individuals and their family carers.
Our Short Break Units are places where people can feel safe, make and meet friends and experience new things.

When 7A Finborough Road is open?
7A Finborough Road is open over the weekend:
From 3.30pm Fri Through to 11.30 am Monday

The Unit is also open in the Week:

Mondays to Thurs - 3.30pm - 9.30am each night - these nights are charged and booked separately.
Please note that Unit is closed during the day and Day Care needs to be arranged separately.

What 7A Finborough Road has to offer?
7A Finborough Road is in Stowmarket, near the Centre of the Town, famous for the museum of East Anglian life. The town has its own cinema and good links via its train service.
7A has modern facilities and is well equipped with up to date technology such as Wi-Fi, ipads and Wii.
7A has a comfortable and homely feel to it, with a kitchen/ dining room and living room.

Groups go out from the short breaks home to use community facilities, such as the swimming pool, cinema, coffee shops/ restaurants/pubs and shops. We also arrange trips out for a relaxing picnic or to Felixstowe and surrounding areas (millage fee applies)

Individual Rooms
Finborough Road has 4 Bedrooms, 2 on the Ground Floor which are fully wheelchair accessible and 2 Upstairs. One of the Rooms down stairs also has an integrated ceiling hoist system.

Your Support
Leading Lives staff work in person centred ways to support and promote people to achieve their aspirations and remain as independent as they are able.

Support needs are assessed when you register with the service and individual packages and programmes agreed to best suit your needs and aspirations. Individual bookings are also compatibility matched before confirmation.
