Description

We run the Hong Que Day Opportunities Service to enable elders to continue living valued and dignified lives in the community. A day service providing an activite programme and companionship in a setting that meets the language and cultural needs of the Chinese Community.

Services Provided

• Art and craft activities
• Chinese festival celebrations
• Day trips
• Flexibility exercise sessions
• Learning about different cultures around the world
• Luncheon Club with hot meals freshly prepared and cooked on the premises three times each week
• Mah Jong, quizzes and other games to stimulate memory, balance, dexterity.
• News and current affairs
• Exercise sessions for mobility, flexibility and balance including Tai Chi

Outcomes

As a result of attending our Day Opportunities service, participants:

• Stay connected with their peers
• Are supported in a safe environment which fully caters for their language and cultural needs
• Are physically and mentally stimulated
• Maintain emotional wellbeing
