Sussex Orchards offer Part Day or whole Day Sessions offering opportunity to individuals to experience involvement in the Complex Process of making Apple Juice. The whole process, from washing and mincing the apples to labelling the bottles, takes three days and requires many different skills, giving everyone on the team a unique and important role.

Pressing Day
On pressing day someone drives the tractor to the fridge to pick up the apples. Some members of the team wash and sort the apples whilst others mince and press the apples to extract the juice.

Bottling Day
Bottling day involves washing bottles, putting bottles onto a bottle feed machine, putting caps onto bottles, placing the bottles into a pasteuriser, and then taking them out and crating them up.

Labelling Day
Finally the bottles need to be tagged, labelled and shrink wraps placed on the bottles to prepare them for market and our customers. All these jobs keep the team very busy, but there is always time to relax and drink the fruits of our labour, a perk of the job.
