Description
Every Thursday we run a 'Wildlife Walkers' group who meet at Thornes Park Nursery in Wakefield. With minibus provision and volunteer assistance, we go out to sites in Yorkshire. We walk for up to 5 miles per day, discovering British wildlife along the way. With mammal trapping, bug hunting, butterfly counts, bird watching and more, we have lots to discover! It is great exercise and members learn a great deal about UK nature in a fun, outdoor environment.
When does it take place?
Every Thursday throughout the year, except the two Thursdays over the Christmas period. We meet at 10am and drop people home at around 4-4.30pm.
Who is it for?
Adults with learning disabilities and/or sensory impairments
How much does it cost?
£20 per day, invoiced every two months in arrears. People are paying for it out of their personalised budget or privately. People can pay by cash, cheque, BACS or standing order. Call to arrange a free taster day!
