Description

DABD is a voluntary independent organisation, providing a range of services to enable and support independent living and promote independence across London.

The Buddy and Befriending service provision can be offered to the family when required 7 days a week which can include evenings, weekends and overnight sitting; sleeping and waking night services which dependent on the child’s needs and requirements. 

Activities for this service provision would include swimming, attending local youth clubs, respite for family members, sports centres, night sitting services, accompanying children to and from school, trips to the park, bowling, shopping, library, crèches, travelling on buses, trains, going for walks, teaching them independent skills e.g. how to travel on public transports, how to interact with other children and adults. This can be arranged as a 1:1 provision or as a group setting if required

Allocated suitable worker to each child, we range our assessment relating to who works best with that child, who can get the most out of that child, suitable personalities and suitable for the child’s needs and disability.

Suitability:

The club is suitable for children and young people between 5-24-years-old.

Availability:

This service is available 7 days a week including evenings, weekends and overnight sitting, sleeping and waking night services, this is dependent on the child/young person's requirements. Sleeping and waking night is from 10pm to 8am.

Booking information:

In order for you to book a place you will need to call the office, (0330 054 2500) to arrange an initial assessment. Once the assessment and paperwork has been arranged you can then proceed with your booking. In our initial assessment we will ask the parents to be involved in the activity plans and discuss the child/young person’s needs, likes and dislikes and their preferred activities.

Cancellation terms:

Cancellation fees apply if you do not provide us with a minimum of 3 days notice prior to your child/young person attending. The cancellation fee will be for the full amount payable.

If for any reason we would have to cancel your child/young person’s place then we would give you the minimum of 3 days notice prior to the date of the service and the option of rebooking onto another session or a full refund if applicable.
