This course will provide knowledge and skills for how you can manage your own budget and direct your own support. The content of the course will provide the tools to get the best outcome from your personal budget.

We will also look at other areas you may need to consider for instance:
• how to manage your support team, i.e. recruitment, rotas, meetings etc.
• how to research opportunities that maybe available for you, i.e. finding activities that are taking place in your local area or finding the nearest association or group that supports your hobby or interest

• For you to fully understand how a budget can be managed
• The different ways you can choose to manage your budget
• Help and guidance on good and bad practice
• Choice and control within a personal budget
• How to make the most of your budget, including the resources available within your community

This course will help you understand:
• self directed support
• how to make meaningful choices about your personal budget
• how to avoid the pit falls
• how to open up the choices and opportunities available to you

• Anyone who is receiving a personal budget
• Anyone who has been told they are eligible for a personal budget
This could be individuals, their family members and the people who support them
