Description
Are you looking for help with Practical Life Skills, help with travelling independently, learning to prepare and cook simple and nutritious meals or help with budgeting and domestic skills?
At Freeman College in Sheffield, a registered charitable organisation and one of three specialist colleges operated by Ruskin Mill Trust, we offer a short course for 1 day a week, over a 6 week period, to help support you to gain these skills.
We have expertise in working with young people aged 16-25 with complex behaviour and learning difficulties and disabilities, including autistic spectrum conditions, whose needs cannot be met elsewhere.
Set in the centre of Sheffield, 5 minutes from the railway station, and its metal working heritage, the college combines a city and urban experience with rural activities.
Short Course Accessible with a Personal Budget - This course can be accessed through a Personal Budget. It provides an opportunity to learn through doing real-life purposeful activities that enhance intellectual, emotional and physical health, focusing on the future transition into the wider community.
We also offer long term, residential respite provision in Darlington. This provision incorporates 100 acres of farm land, animal husbandry and the same Practical Therapeutic Skills curriculum on offer throughout Ruskin Mill Trust.
