Activities
Beech Lodge and Oak Lodge benefits from an Activity Organiser who devises and carries out personalised activity plans, alongside the person we support’s key worker. The many activities include music, arts and crafts, cooking, hydrotherapy and swimming.
The people we support benefit from the use of their own specially adapted vehicles for outings and sporting activities. Participation in further education and leisure activities at local colleges and outreach facilities are available to all including our own on-site day centre.
Every effort is made to enable people to keep in touch with their friends and relatives. Advocacy and volunteer befriending schemes are encouraged.
Training
All staff undertake an induction programme at our training academy when joining SHC. In addition, a system of supervision and support for staff enables them to gain experience and increase their skills. Extensive in-house training is provided by the SHC training team and QCF courses are undertaken in conjunction with local colleges. The Care Certificate is available to all new staff.
