Description
Why PAT Test?
PAT Testing (Portable Appliance Testing) involves looking for signs of damage and faults on all electrical equipment and installations to prevent accidents and injuries. By doing this, most electrical risks can be controlled.
What is PAT Testing?
PAT testing is generally regarded as being the best way of meeting the electrical regulations that exist to protect employees and customers. Without it you could be in a very difficult situation if an electrical accident were to occur.
What are my Legal Responsibilities?
To meet the requirements of the 1989 Electricity at work regulations, it is widely regarded to be necessary to implement a programme of planned inspection and testing of portable appliances. In the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, all employers have a legal duty to provide safe equipment and every employer must ensure that equipment be maintained in an adequate state and in efficient working order and good repair.
