This course will offer an introduction to a variety of techniques, including graphic facilitation, as a means to create inclusive meetings and planning sessions. That lead to people feeling involved and necessary action being taken.
Aims
Have you ever heard someone say ‘not another meeting’, it has to be said that a lot of meetings do take place and sometimes they prove not to be the most effective use of peoples time.
Often the conversation goes around in a circle with a firm decision not being made. There can also be a core group of people that lead and take up the talking space meaning that not everyone present feels valued and involved. This aside meetings, when run well, can be the generating ground of great ideas and meaningful action, during this one day course we aim to introduce some good thinking and facilitation tools that will help you make the best of the time that people have to spend together.
Learning Outcomes
• You will learn recording techniques using graphic facilitation
• How to set an environment so that it is welcoming and creates an atmosphere that encourages involvement and creative thinking
• Effective ways to open and close a meeting
• How to set an agenda that encourages progress and creates a team approach to achieving the outcome
• Developing a resourceful attitude within the group to be able to achieve desired outcomes
• You will learn Solution Focused problem solving techniques that you can use at a later date
