Our service users are not only involved in the support we provide, they lead that support both individually and as a group which is achieved by our “person centred review” and our “service quality check” processes.
Example Support Services
Our support provision cannot be categorised in to specific services as we provide support in whatever capacity is required by an individual’s requirements, however, we have provided some examples below of common support areas we deliver.
Independent Living Skills
We have decades of experience in the promotion of independent living skills and have worked in partnership with other professionals and providers to help each individual in developing the skills they need, we have taken advantage of assistive technology to enable our service users to be able to live as independent life as possible empower them to obtain best possible outcomes.
To Obtain A Home
We have supported some of our service user’s in acquiring a new home using local using provider’s. Some of our service users have taken advantage of the circles of support they have formed in the area other have taken advantage of assistive technology to help them sustain independent living.
To Obtain Work Placements
We have supported, encouraged and facilitated our service users to acquire paid work and continue to support them and their employer throughout. We have also found volunteering work for individuals doing the things they enjoy for example gardening and working with animals giving extra support where needed.
Creating friendships
We support and encourage our service users to build circles of support, develop and maintain friendships and relationships. Often our service need help with planning outings, invites and organizing get togethers to enable the friendship and relationships to flourish. We encourage our service users to take part in local and wider community activities which facilitates and encourages friendships.
Outreach
We are very proud of our staff team and the flexibility in the service that is offered. We currently support service users who live alone or with parents to access the community, activities, health appointments, we have recently helped with vocational training. Service user’s we support on outreach are often offered the facility of going on holiday.
Our service has been established for nearly thirty years and during this time we have developed circles of support within the local community which in turn have empowered the service user’s to be more independent while feeling safe
