Description
This small, friendly and lively specialist support service is for younger people living with Dementia (and who are diagnosed before the age of 70). It offers an opportunity to socialise and try new activities with active people of a similar age.
Our highly trained and committed staff will be on hand to support people as much or as little as they need.
The Alzheimer’s Society is committed to putting the person at the centre of the services we provide. As a first step, our team will work with them and those who care for them to understand their lifestyle choices, support networks and personal care needs.
The care and support will be specific to assessed needs and will include:
• An opportunity to meet and mix with others
• Stimulation through social contact and meaningful activities
• An opportunity to pursue personal hobbies and social activities either in the centre or out in the community
• Refreshments and a two course meal
• Outing to local places of interest
Carers benefit from this service too: they get some time for themselves and can be confident that they are getting the support they need and want from dementia specialist
