Definition
This is a family lead meeting where families come together/gather and resolve any disagreements with the emphasis being to reach amicable solutions/decisions. CBT will also use the model in conjunction with counselling to resolve families in crisis where teenagers are in dispute with parents/carers and maybe on the verge of being allocated a placement in a care setting.
Aim/Outcome
Saves the best interest of the child/children, families feel valued and listened to, better working relationship between professionals and families, families agree on decisions which best suit them subject to approval by the local authority.
Process
This has 3 stages which are: Information Sharing, private family time and establishing a family plan.
