Our Services
At Mencap in Kirklees we support people who live on their own, with their families, in shared supported living flats and houses and in residential homes.

The link below is for a video we made when some of the people we support moved from a residential home into their own supported living flats.

Community Support Team
Our community team support a lot of people who live in their own homes, with their families and in supported living flats and houses. They can help with finding a home, finding people to share with and with anything else you may need to live there.

If you need support when you live there then they can call in for a few hours, maybe if you just need help with paying bills or cooking your meals, or they can be there all the time if that is what you need.

Residential homes
If you need staff to be around all the time then our community support team can help you or you may want to live in one of residential homes. We have three of these.

Victoria Road is in Lockwood Huddersfield and is a group home for 6 people. The people who live there all have busy lives. Some people go to day centres and some have jobs. One person has their own flat upstairs which means that they have a bit more space to themselves as well as their own kitchen.

There is a space available at the moment for someone new to move in. If you think Victoria Road might be somewhere you’d like to live then please get in touch so we can have a chat and tell you more about the home.

Castle Hall is in Ravensthorpe and is a home for older people who have a learning disability and age related conditions. 16 people live there at the moment. If you think Castle Hall might be a good place for you in the future then you are welcome to contact us to find out more.

Number 100 is in Salendine Nook, Huddersfield. 8 people live there and there is a bungalow joined on at the back where 2 of the people live. Number 100 have their own vegetable garden where they grow their own food. There are no spaces at the moment at Number 100.

The price of the service depends on what you are looking for, your needs & requirements but the information is free!
