Description
CACFO’s Adult Day Centre delivers a Five-fold Adult Day Service programme comprising:
• £11 per day £5 Bus service if required
• Regular activities to stimulate the mind given many clients have dementia, e.g. quizzes, reminiscing sessions, folk song and other singing from childhood days, arts and crafts, etc
• Regular activities to help physical fitness, e.g. twice weekly seated exercise classes, dance therapy sessions, yoga, tea dances
• Group recreational activities to help social interaction and friendship building, e.g. bingo, board game sessions (e.g. chess, draughts, Ludo), domino sessions; day trips (e.g. to the seaside, parks, cinema).
• Culturally sensitive, healthy, nutritious meals taking account of special dietary requirements or medical conditions, e.g. diabetes
• Advice and signposting to appropriate agencies and services covering issues as diverse as housing, employment, personal development, mental health, domestic violence Delivery of the Five-fold Programme is underpinned by CACFO’s:
• Well-established community base, with 25 years operational experience
• A well-established door-to-door accessible transport service which, coupled with services like dial-a-ride, reaches elderly residents across the Borough
• An on-site kitchen staff by our own chef and assistants
• An experienced team of staff and community volunteers who are passionate about helping elders to have ‘a life not a care plan’
• An open-door policy that makes the Centre accessible to elders 9-5, 5 days a week, 52 weeks of the year (bar Christmas and Bank Holidays)
