Description

St Wilfrids is a day service for vulnerable people who may suffer mental health problems or learning difficulties. In providing welfare services and a raft of educational activities including a skills workshop, we hope to help people overcome barriers of social exclusion and provide them with the opportunity to improve their quality of life. Clients come from throughout Sheffield. We welcome all people, regardless of creed, culture or race and can assure you of a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Home Cooking
Everyone is welcome to join our Home Cooking class because it is great fun and it is so useful! Every Wednesday morning, three or four of us get together over five weeks to learn, practice and of course – eat what we make! We’d love to see you at our next session to chat, share ideas and to discover just how great home cooking can be.

Our Home Cooking course is all about making the most of your food budget, practicing new skills and getting the best out of your kitchen. Throughout the course you’ll receive one-to-one help and try different recipes that go with the season. Together we’ll make small meals and deserts that tempt your taste-buds and give lots of encouragement to try your new skills at home. By the end of the course you’ll be surprised just how much you’ve achieved and just how much you enjoy home cooking.

This course will give you all the help you need to feel more confident in the kitchen and work with ingredients and measurements. Right from the start you’ll use kitchen equipment and tools correctly and safely, you’ll learn how to get the best out of your oven and microwave, get a better understanding of safe-storing and safe re-heating and of course the importance of good Health, Safety and Hygiene in the kitchen.

Healthy eating isn’t just for some – it’s for everyone! Come and join us and ‘have a go’ – we meet every Wednesday in ‘The Flat’ – so remember, first come, first served?...
