Westwood Care’s sitting service is designed to support carers to have a well-earned break from their caring responsibilities and give them time to relax, pursue their own interests, get all the jobs done they haven’t been able to do or spend time with other family members.

Westwood offers a range of flexible sitting services that can be provided during the day, evening or night for any length of time, as follows
• Individuals can be supported in the home, giving the carer time to go out if they choose
• Individuals may prefer to go out for a couple of hours to pursue their own interests or attend appointments
• Personal Assistants can accompany carers and individuals on outings or holidays to provide the extra support required to make sure everyone has a good time.

Qualified and consistent Personal Assistants are carefully matched to individuals according to their skills, training and personal interests. This enables the carer to have peace of mind and confidence that their friend or relative is being supported safely to have a good time pursuing activities they enjoy.

All staff undergo a rigorous recruitment process including an Enhanced CRB check. Introductions are undertaken sensitively at the pace of the service user to promote the development of strong, trusting relationships so that everyone has a positive experience.
