Description
St Wilfrids is a day service for vulnerable people who may suffer mental health problems or learning difficulties. In providing welfare services and a raft of educational activities including a skills workshop, we hope to help people overcome barriers of social exclusion and provide them with the opportunity to improve their quality of life. Clients come from throughout Sheffield. We welcome all people, regardless of creed, culture or race and can assure you of a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Literacy
Listening and Speaking, Reading and Writing are all around us – we all take part! And this is why we provide three ways to help improve literacy and communication skills. By joining one of our three groups you’ll find all the support and help you need to recognise and read words write sentences, express yourself and understand what others are saying.
Progress is always made using your preferred methods and at the pace that best suits you. So, if you are looking to make your first steps into the world of words, why not try our one-to-one tutoring and join our friendly ‘start-up’ group - where your interests lead the way. For those looking to brush-up on reading, writing and communicating, you can always join our Tuesday morning literacy group and delve into stories, word puzzles and speaking up! For those who enjoy seeing word in print, you can always be part of our magazine production ‘Little Issue’ which comes out every three months – packed full of your stories, your poems, your quizzes, your features and your hot topics.
