Care 2 Talk has been running a Domestic Violence change behaviour programme in Uxbridge (the London Borough of Hillingdon) since 2011. In April 2015 we expanded our service to the Hounslow area. We have no geographical restrictions to accessing our service. We work with men and women who use (or have used) domestic abuse/violence in their intimate partner relationships.

The programme aims are:
• To ensure the safety of female/male victims and their children
• To work with other agencies to manage risk constructively
• To promote change in abusive/violent behaviour

The expected outcomes for men / women attending the programme are that on completion they will be able to:
• Identify the intents and beliefs that underpin their violence and abuse
• Take positive steps to change their relationship/s using the skills and tools provided on the programme
• Acknowledge the effect of their behaviour towards their ex-partners/ partners and children
• Take 100% responsibility for their use of violent and abusive behaviours

Voluntary referrals process for male and female perpetrators

Men and women are encouraged to refer themselves onto the programme. He/she may also be referred through another agency.

Criteria for accessing the Change Behaviour Programme:
• The man/woman must be 18 years or older
• The man/woman must not be due to attend court or be involved with any criminal proceedings
• The man/woman must be prepared and agree to provide contact details of his/her (ex) partners so that they can be offered support from the partner’s support service
• The man/woman must agree to attend the programme voluntarily and show some motivation to change their behaviour
