So! What is advocacy?

Who is this course for:
People with learning disabilities and/or autism, professionals working in health and social care.

This full day course gives individuals a good understanding of the basics of advocacy. You will think through and discuss:
• self advocacy
• peer advocacy
• group advocacy
• crisis advocacy
• none instructed advocacy
• legal advocacy
• professional advocacy

Advocacy is all about valuing the thoughts, feelings and needs of others. It can be a one to one relationship between an advocate giving active support to a partner, the advocate may also speak for you and explain your needs. Advocacy can also be speaking up for yourself, your rights and taking control of your life. This course will sign post you to the advocacy qualifications, run by BILD. Number of delegates: Minimum 8, Maximum 14 Length of session: 1day sessions but could be delivered over 2 half days.

Price
£150 per 3 hour session per person, £350 per 3 hour session for between 3 and 12 people or £700 per full day intensive course for between 3 and 12 people.
